in this hybrid role, you will report to a Systems Test Engineering Manager.
You Will
- Lead a large team of vendor test engineers in successfully validating new autonomous vehicle platforms from mule phase through production.
- Work closely with the vehicle program leads to effectively prioritizing test campaigns, proactively identifying resource gaps and managing testing execution.
- Test complex hardware/software systems that push the frontier of hardware design, software design, and system integration
- Design test procedures and/or test equipment that allows others to execute these processes successfully.
- Find ways to automate testing by writing scripts or unit tests, or leveraging the Waymo simulation infrastructure.
- Identify system areas which need additional test coverage, propose test plans to provide coverage, and implement additional tests to ongoing test programs.
You Have
- High level AV domain knowledge that will allow the candidate to hit the ground running and accelerate ongoing and new platform development projects from day one.
- Experience leading a large Engineering project and coordinating with project leadership while providing clear direction to Engineers executing testing.
- Experience in physical testing of automobiles or autonomous vehicles. CANALYZER, Robotic Test Platforms, JIRA, Data Acquisition.
- Ability to develop and train others to develop automated test campaigns.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL
We Prefer
- Experience using Jira for test campaign management and reporting
- Experience with physical hands-on testing of Autonomous Vehicles.
- Strong knowledge of Systems Engineering principles and experience developing verification coverage plans from system level requirements.
- Experience working closely with vendors providing engineering or testing services.
- Proficient in C++
Travel
- 25% travel to support: Meeting with OEM partners at their development facilities and traveling to Waymo test tracks and proving grounds to support test campaigns.
The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. $196,000—$248,000 USD
